Workshop: Staying Human In Hard Times
Workshop: Staying Human in Hard Times
A 4-week movement & reflection series for heavy times
Staying Human in Hard Times is a 4-week movement and reflection series for people who care deeply - and are feeling the weight of it.
Every Wednesday in February
7:00–8:00 PM CST
Live on Zoom
Recordings available if you can’t attend live
This is a space to bring your whole self: your anger, your fear, your grief, and your hope - without being asked to fix, bypass, or explain any of it. Through simple, intentional movement and guided reflection, we’ll help these emotions move through the body so they don’t turn inward or burn you out. This is about protecting your heart and your humanity in heavy times.
Why this series exists
Many of us are holding more than we were ever meant to carry -staying engaged, staying informed, staying compassionate, while trying not to harden or shut down.
This series offers a steady, supportive container to process what’s already here, reconnect with your body, and practice care that’s sustainable. Not numbing. Not pushing through. Not disappearing. Staying human.
What this is & what it isn’t
This is:
A guided emotional walkthrough for the body
Movement for mental health
Simple, grounding practices you can return to
A supportive community container
This is not:
A workout program
A therapy group
A place where you have to explain or justify how you feel
Another thing asking you to be more, do more, or fix yourself
The 4-Week Emotional Arc
Week 1: Anger, Rage & Frustration
Anger is information ~ Not something to suppress or be afraid of.
This week offers permission to feel anger without shame, understand it as a boundary response, and use movement to help it move without turning inward or burning you out.
Your anger makes sense. Let’s help it move safely.
Week 2: Fear
Fear is a protective response ~ Not a prediction of the future.
We’ll explore simple nervous system tools, grounding movement, and ways to settle fight-or-flight so fear doesn’t run the show.
Fear is loud right now. We can’t silence it - but we can help it settle.
Week 3: Grief
Grief is love with nowhere to go.
This week creates space to acknowledge loss - including losses that aren’t always recognized - through slow movement and community witnessing.
Nothing is wrong with you. You’re grieving because you care.
Week 4: Hope
This is earned hope ~ Not toxic positivity.
Hope here is something we practice, not something we wait for. We’ll reconnect to joy without guilt and identify gentle, sustainable ways to keep moving forward.
Hope doesn’t mean everything is okay. It means we keep choosing care.
